Derhachivska Correctional Colony (No. 109)
The state institution "Derhachivska Correctional Colony (No. 109)" was part of the structure of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine and for many years ensured the execution of criminal punishments in the form of imprisonment in accordance with the requirements of the penal enforcement legislation of Ukraine.
The institution was located in the Kharkiv district of the Kharkiv region and functioned as a correctional colony, ensuring the detention of convicts, the organisation of their labour, professional training, general education, and the conduct of socio-educational work. The production activity of the institution was an important component of the process of re-socialisation of convicts and ensured their involvement in socially useful labour.
Within the framework of the reform and optimisation of the network of institutions of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine, the activities of the state institution "Derhachivska Correctional Colony (No. 109)" were optimised.
In this regard, the institution's performance of functions regarding the detention of convicts was terminated, and the individuals serving their sentences were transferred to other institutions of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine.
The optimisation of the institution's activity was carried out within the framework of state policy to increase the efficiency of the functioning of the penitentiary system, the rational use of the material and technical base, and the concentration of resources in the existing institutions for the execution of sentences.
Following the cessation of its primary operational purpose, the further use of the property complex and the organisational-legal status of the institution are determined by the relevant decisions of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
