North-Central Interregional Office for Execution of Criminal Punishments of the Ministry of Justice

The North-Central Interregional Office for the Execution of Criminal Punishments of the Ministry of Justice is a territorial body of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, which ensures the implementation of state policy in the sphere of execution of criminal punishments and pre-trial detention within the territory of the city of Kyiv, and the Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions.

The powers of the Office include coordinating the activities of subordinate penal institutions, pre-trial detention centres, enterprises, and healthcare institutions of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine, as well as organizing personnel work, financial support, exercising control over compliance with legislative requirements in the sphere of criminal punishment execution, and interacting with public authorities, local self-government bodies, and the public.

The North-Central Interregional Office was formed as a result of the reorganization of the territorial bodies of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine and ensures the organizational management of institutions located within its designated service area.
