In Poltava, supervisory commissions discussed current issues of their activity and familiarized themselves with the experience of other regions

On 31 May in Poltava, a seminar took place for members of the regional supervisory commission, which was organized by the regional state administration and the supervisory commission of the Poltava region together with the public human rights organization “Donetsk Memorial”.
The seminar was conducted within the framework of the project “Increasing the Level of Protection of Prisoners' Rights: Ways and Methods”, which is being executed by “Donetsk Memorial” with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine.
Participants of the event familiarized themselves with the work experience of supervisory commissions of various regions of the country and with changes to the Regulations on Supervisory Commissions, and considered concrete cases that happen in the work of the commissions. Special attention was devoted to the work of supervisory commissions in matters of parole, assistance to released persons, and interaction with public organizations.
Participants interestedly discussed the specifics of relations with the Prosecutor's Office. Each supervisory commission of the region received a scientific-practical commentary on the Regulations on Supervisory Commissions, prepared and published by “Donetsk Memorial”.
Some commissions received, in addition, a set of information publications from “Donetsk Memorial” of a legal nature.
